The Awkward Age – a novel by Henry James, a short story about the complications that have arisen in the social structure of the young girl’s family as a result of her growing up. This novel has become a common interpretation of the decline and corruption in the english life at the end of the 19th century. Henry James presents the novel almost entirely in dialogue, an experiment that not only enhances the immediacy of the scenes, but also creates serious ambiguities about the characters and their motifs.
